It is also likely that he or she can much more easily envision how they can contribute to their individual talents and skills for the success of the team.

Even with a staggering 22 million plus salespeople in the United States and Canada, it has been shown that only a paltry 20 percent of sales leads are met with follow ups after the fact. And so, when hiring sales representatives, you will likely be looking for those who distinguish themselves as high motivated go getters who are driven by success.

Additional inherent characteristics that can indicate that a prospective sales rep will be successful include exuberance, the ability to adapt to change, a commanding presence, and a confident attitude. It is also helpful if the the person is already comfortable using certain computer programs and other technologies to create his or her own professional presentations, with which to pitch clients of the company.
