What You Should Know About Pool Excavation

If you decided to get an inground pool, excavation will most likely be required. Excavation is the process of digging out the area where your pool will be installed. Before this happens there are a few things you should know about pool excavation.

The first thing you should be aware of is what happens if the excavator hits a rock or groundwater while digging out the pool. If this happens you have the option to raise the pool level a little bit higher than it was going to be.

In doing this you would be able to dodge the rock. If you don’t want to raise the level then breaking up the rock with tools may be an option.

Hitting groundwater would require you to use a pump to get all of the water out before you can carry on.

In digging out the pool there is going to be a lot of dirt that needs to be put elsewhere. It would be good to ask about what the process is going to look like while the area is being excavated. You want to make sure there is a plan in place to take away all of the dirt that gets dug up.
